Layered Nacho Dip – pass the chips

Layered Nacho Dip

Layered Nacho Dip combines layers of  sour cream and cream cheese, salsa, chives, grated nacho cheeses (mozarella, Monterey Jack Cheese and cheddar) and diced tomatoes. Serve with a small spoon and nacho chips.

Layered Nacho Dip is always a hit at parties….tasty ingredients and nacho chips.  How can you go wrong?  Plus regular white corn chips are gluten free, which makes this dish available to those people on gluten free diets.

Layered Nacho Dip

Serves 15 as an appetizer with other choices

Ingredients

  • 1 8 oz (250 gm) pkg plain cream cheese
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • chunky medium salsa (to cover (about 1/2 cup))
  • 1 - 2 Tbsp freshly chopped chives
  • 1 Large red or yellow or orange or green sweet pepper (chopped)
  • 1 cup grated nacho cheeses (cheddar, Monterey Jack, mozarella)
  • 3 Large fresh tomatoes (diced)

Directions

Combine the cream cheese and sour cream. Spread the mixture in the bottom of a glass serving dish which has low sides.

Top the cream cheese mixture with a layer of salsa. Then add the chives.

The next layer is the chopped sweet pepper.

Followed by the grated cheeses.

Finally, top with the chopped tomatoes. Chill at least an hour before serving. Serve with nacho chips.
