Apple Crisp

apple crisp

Many Apple Crisp recipes use oatmeal in the topping, but I prefer this butter/sugar/flour crust.  This is my go to dessert, when I am in a hurry to prepare a dessert.

There is no extra sugar with the apples and a good helping of cinnamon.

Very yummy!

Ingredients

  • 6 - 7 medum to large apples (peeled and sliced)
  • cinnamon to taste
  • 1/3 cup butter at room temperature
  • 2/3 cups brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour

Directions

Grease a small casserole dish (1 ½ quarts) ⅔ full with sliced apples sprinkling cinnamon to taste. I do not usually add any sugar to the apples, since the topping/crust is quite sweet and that makes the dish sweet enough
