Hot Fudge Pudding Cake

I am always awed that this recipe produces cake on the top and pudding on the bottom.

It is a very simple recipe that can be prepared in about 15 minutes and then just needs to bake while the rest of supper is cooking.

 

Hot Fudge Pudding Cake

Serves 4

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1 1/2 Tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 Tsp salt
  • 2 Tbsp cocoa powder
  • 6 Tbsp milk
  • 2 Tbsp vegetable oil

Topping

  • 2/3 cups brown sugar, packed
  • 1 1/3 cup hot water
  • 2 Tbsp cocoa powder

Directions

Heat oven to 350 deg F.
Mix all ingredients except brown sugar, hot water and 2 tbsp cocoa. Put into ungreased 2 L casserole.
Mix brown sugar, and 2 tbsp cocoa; sprinkle on batter. Pour hot water on batter

Bake 30 to 35 minutes or until sauce is bubbly below and cake tests done with cake tester.

Serve warm. Top with whipped cream or ice cream or milk, if you wish.
