Deep Fried Cauliflower

Deep Fried Cauliflower

My sister-in-law Gaetanne made this appetizer for me the other day.  I must admit, that I am not a fan of fried foods or cooked cauliflower, but this dish made me a believer.

The Farmer’s Market had fresh cauliflower for just a dollar, so I could not resist.

Take a  whole head of cauliflower, dip it in batter and fry it to make a scrumptious appetizer…..Deep Fried Cauliflower!

I don’t own a deep fryer, but a deep frying pan is all you need.  Fry it on one side and then turn it over for the other side.  An easy and tasty recipe.

Heat the oil in a deep frying pan (if using a deep fryer, you will need to use more oil). Heat the oil to 365 deg F (180 C) or until bubbles start to form. Drop the cauliflower into the oil, in batches. Turn the cauliflower as it starts to cook and turns a golden brown. Drain on a paper towel.
Serve warm as an appetizer.
